14 Year Old Artist, Sanae Paris

SanaeToronto, ON, Canada – Singer/Songwriter, Model, and performance artist, 14 year old Sanae Paris, will be taking the stage to perform at a number of summer events across the GTA. In addition to being in 4 festival lines ups, Sanae will be entering for a chance to be selected to compete at the 2016 Jambana Idol Competition. Born in Ottawa, ON, this young “phenom”, moved to Toronto late last summer and has already managed to prove herself, across the city, as a multi-talented, energetic, and entertaining performing artist.
Sanae began displaying her natural talent for the performing arts at the age of 3 and took her first dance lesson at the age of 4. Raised in a household with just her brother and mother, Sanae spent more than 10 years taking various dance lessons and she performed in a number of recitals and dance showcases in her then hometown of Ottawa. As Sanae got older, her interest for singing began to take shape, and she could be found recording herself singing throughout the neighborhood using a hand held camera when she was 10 years old. Video clips of the youngster, singing songs by Adele and Christina Aguilera began to circle on social media, and that’s how Sanae landed her first “gig” at the age of 11. Since her first performance (at the International Black Summit – covered by ROGERS TV), Sanae went on to audition for the sold out Talent Nation Industry Showcase (Season I) when she was 12. Sanae was selected to open the sold out show with her sassy rendition of “Valerie”, by Amy Winehouse, and Sanae then went on to win her first talent competition (JamDay Idol), in 2014. Following Sanae’s competition win (held at the Jam Day Festival at Mooney’s Bay Beach), doors began to open for Sanae including an invitation to perform live on a ROGERS TV program called The Caribbean Calendar and to perform at her first gala and fundraising event. Sanae has been a guest on two radio shows (to date) due to her singing career; in 2014, she was a guest on Ottawa’s CHUO’s Black-on-Black (89.1FM) with co-host Sarah Onyango and she was recently invited to be a guest on Toronto’s CIUT’s Mastermind Show (89.5FM) with co-host Nathan Baya. She was also featured in a Scarborough edition of Snap. And, Sanae is scheduled to be featured in an up-coming Metroland Newspaper story related to her upbringing in Ottawa, her music career and her move to Toronto. Over the summer, this ambitious, fun-loving, rising-star (with big dreams), earned herself a spot in the following festivals and showcases:
 July 23, 2016 – Unity Charity Festival (held at Dundas Square)
 July 24, 2016 – YD (Youth Day) Fest (held at Dundas Square) – Press Conference Today – July 13 at Hard Rock Café (4-7pm)
 August 11, 2016 – Honey Jam Canada Festival (held at the Mod Club Theatre, 722 College)
 August 18, 2016 – Honey Jam Canada Festival – Post Event Showcase (held at Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas St. E.)
Earlier this year, Sanae was accepted into two performing arts schools here in Toronto and accepted the offer to attend the Etobicoke School of the Art’s Musical Theatre “Triple Threat” Program for September 2016. She’s also interested in being selected to travel to Barbados as part of Honey Jam’s “Get Me to Barbados” Campaign so she can perform at Honey Jam Barbados in November 2016. And, she would also like to be selected to compete in the 2016 Jambana Idol Competition. It’s clear Sanae has that “fire”, “X” factor, and is an artist to watch! The youngster (with “an old soul”) is inspired by artist like Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Adel, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Drake, Nina Simone, Etta James and more. Some of Sanae’s past performances (across multiple cities), include: The Ottawa Latin Festival, The Carivibe Beach and Food Festival, Trinbago Day Festival, Kwesi Johnson’s Holiday Soiree with Mike “Pinball” Clemons, KUUMBA, and R.I.S.E. Edutainment’s Black History Month Event, and more! For a full list of past performances, see Sanae’s EPK at artistecard.com/sanaeparis. Sanae hopes to start recording her first EP and would like to become a successful recording artist and actress (on a TV Show) who travels around the world sharing her love for music and performing with others.
