Alexia Terrelonge won the 2014 Miss Teen Portmore Scholarship Pageant with a stellar performance at Sunday’s coronation show, held on the roof of Portmore Pines Plaza, St Catherine.

The concept of the Miss Teen Portmore Scholarship Pageant came out of the need to facilitate and assist teenage girls in Portmore and surrounding communities with Scholarships and personal development activities.

Contestants in Miss Teen Portmore, which has been produced by OCTRON Promotions for the past 11 years, are assessed primarily on their knowledge of current affairs, Jamaican culture and history. The competition aims to encourage the personal development of young ladies through grooming sessions, public speaking, and social development. It also contributes to their educational development.

One major criterion for entrants is to have a least a C+ average. They must be between 14 and 18 years old and display a performance talent.
