ANNUAL COMMUNITY BBQ

Toronto, ON IMPACT ‘n Communities will be holding it’s 2nd annual community BBQ at 4301 Kingston Road from 12pm to 6pm – Aug 26th. Join the IMPACT team and over 300 community residents for a fun filled day of good food, activities, music and entertainment. Support our generous sponsors and donors in celebrating grassroots neighborhood development. This event will coincide with the last day of our summer camp children and youth programming so let’s send them back to school with positive energy and smiles on their faces.

IMPACT ‘n Communities is a registered not-for-profit social service, community development and engagement organization that is steadily working to improve communities across the GTA. We facilitate positive progressive community enhancement initiatives, events, programs and services that work towards impactful transformation and an overall improved quality of life. We are based in the Kingston/Galloway, Danzig, Orton Park, Glendower, Mornelle and Malvern priority neighbourhoods of Scarborough where our positive programs and services assist residents that have been stricken by the ill effects of social injustice and other adverse social determinants on their quality of life. Our specialized focus is in the area of youth services called IMPACT ‘n Youth.

Currently, our Violence Intervention Ambassadors (VIA) Project is gaining much recognition. Our VIA’s facilitate life skill workshops for their peers. These intense, interactive workshops are designed to empower and help youth develop the skills and tools needed to be proactive in dealing with anger, substance abuse prevention, managing emotions, healthy relationships and other stressful situations. VIA’s will be on hand at the BBQ to share their experiences and ideas.
