Back to school treat and health fair for Clarendon church

The Free Town Church of God of Prophecy Outreach Foundation Limited will for the first time be hosting a health fair along with their annual Back to School Giveaways on the church grounds Friday, August 11.

“It is challenging time for many of the parents who are finding it hard to keep up with the many expenses associated with back to school,” Pastor Zebulah Aiken, one of the foundation’s director.

The back to school giveaways has seen the church impacting children in the Free Town, Sandy Bay, Bodles and Longville Park environs and this year the foundation is hoping to add to its growing numbers of recipients.

“We are also hoping that through contributions we will be in a position to offer a few scholarships to children who have done well in their Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) as well as maybe give a contribution towards those who facing challenges in high school,” is the hopeful thinking from Aiken.

It is for this reason the church is reaching out to the Diaspora as well as local entities to come on board to make the back to school event an overwhelming success.

“We welcome contributions of back to school supplies or contributions towards scholarships and snacks to treat the children during the day,” she said.
