Breaking News: OCG & Police Serve Summonses On PNP’s Paul Burke & Omar Davies

There was high drama at PNP the headquarters when officers from the Office Of The Contractor General (OCG) entered the offices of the PNP … interrupted a meeting, purportedly discussing the Campaign Funding Scandal gripping the party.

The PNP immediately issued a release to say it was suspending the announced investigations into the scandal by the Portia announced Integrity Commission. This could lead to prison time for those found to have broken the integrity laws.

The OCG is the government appointed independent integrity watchdog set up by statute with full legal powers to prosecute alleged offenders.

Dr. Trevor Munroe, executive director of the National Integrity Agency (NIA) has welcomed this dramatic new development.

This independent probe has effectively removed any possible bias in this matter on any findings in this scandal from the hands of say the PNP politicians et al.

Private Sector

The Private Sector heads have met to discuss the scandal as they contribute to political parties. It is likely some of their contributions which have been allegedly been misappropriated. They are calling for the long awaited Campaign Finance legislation to become law.

Perspective

We look forward to us getting to the bottom of this Campaign Funding matter which is of much public interest. Will justice be served?
