As Turmoil and scandals continue to rock the 78 year old accident prone People’s National Party (PNP) there are new revelations of questionable dealings being unearthed daily.

Dr. Phillips launch a broadside on critics of the PNP, especially the media. He appeared very emotional as he addressed Comrades over the weekend of September 9th, 2015.

Perspective

When you offer yourself for public office or leadership in the society either at the local or national levels, my friend Dr. Phillips, you should expect scrutiny as it is reasonably expected that you should come to the table with clean hands … as your integrity aught to be above reproach or is unquestionable.

Dennis Brooks speaking on “What’s On My Mind” on FM 90.3 Nationwide News Network (NNN), on September 20, stated inter alia “There is a storm coming … too many PNP/Comrades look across the road and say “dirty labourites as if to suggest that they are genetically superior to the JLP … this is not so … we are all from the same political culture, it is just the leadership of the parties that make a difference.”

In short Dr. Peter Phillips … corruption exist at Westminster, on the Hill or The Congress of the USA. It is the modus operandi of the animal callings itself political representation that separates the parties.

Relocation

In Canada, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is reporting a brewing scandal where certain politicians who were relocated from Ottawa to Toronto, a distance of about 100 or so kilometres claimed in one case some CA$200, 000 for relocation expenses. The media got wind of expenditure and investigated …. after attempts to justify same, they quickly
decided to repay the money. It turned out to be property transfer costs included in the relocation expenses.

Property Purchase

This means property was being bought. The relocation expenses were expected to cover moving of say furniture or to assist with incidentals like repairs to say a rented place or lease of property that is what was reasonably expected. This conduct was not illegal but the claim was viewed as excessive and adjudged to be unethical.

There is the old adage often quoted which aptly describes the perception if not the reality as told how the holders of power, a and the extent to which this power tend to transform their behaviour. Should this in reality be classified as: “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely?

What is new?

In the final analysis, as usual, the verdict is yours.
