Jamaica playing a key role in the Haiti relief activities… US Planes Refuel At Norman Manley Airport

US - Haiti Relief missionThe Jamaican government is playing a key role in the relief activities to Haiti that was ravaged by hurricane Matthew.

Bahamas is being pounded as we speak and some 2 million people in Florida, Carolinas etc. are on the move. It is an unprecedented mass mobilization of people … one never seen before.

Cut Off

The Haitian nation has been cut off from certain sections due to at least one bridge has been washed away. Ms. Desulme reported that “landslides, mud and bridges had washed away communities”

United States transport planes have landed in Jamaica and have been refuelled. They are heading for Haiti with relief supplies. Jamaica is sending relief also to Haiti.

Election

The long anticipated Presidential runoff has unfortunately, been indefinitely postponed.

As we anxiously await word on damage done by hurricane Matthew … we hope for the best for our neighbours … we pray there will be no further loss of life. To those who suffered losses, be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
