Jamaican Gospel Act Signs Worldwide Distribution Deal

Reverend Dr Kay Morris, a Canadian resident of Jamaican descent, recently signed a major distribution deal with Universal Records in the United States and Serious Records Inc.

The deal was signed after she finished second in the Prayze Factor Awards Grand Finals Championship held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Universal Records will distribute her single, Letters of Love, which will be featured on the Prayze Factor Volume 3 compilation CD.

Letters of Love has been getting rave reviews and was produced in Jamaica by Paul Barclay.

The artiste’s 18-track album, Unconditional Love, includes tracks like No StoneJohn 3:16Hello Jesus and Life Experience.

The multi-award winning artiste made history in ecoming the first Caribbean gospel act to sign a global distribution contract with this major record label.

“I am very elated and humbled about such a breakthrough, as I have worked very hard for this, as my plan is just to spread the love and the Word of God globally,” she said.

Universal Records is the subsidiary of Universal Music Group which focuses on all genres of music, and is known for its success in breaking multi-platinum artistes such as Akon, Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire, Nelly and many others.

Kay Morris has had stellar performances all over the world, and was recently invited to perform on the Bobby Jones Gospel Hour show. The multifaceted artiste has also opened shows for Kirk Franklyn, Rev Donnie McClurkin, Ce Ce Winans, Alvin Slaughter and many others.

Kay Morris is also a humanitarian and philanthropist who has toured the continent of Africa, and through her organisation, the Kay Morris Foundation, she has helped the less fortunate and has contributed greatly to the children of Jamaica.

“My aim is really to be the voice of the voiceless,” she said.
