Kanye West Announced As Headline Performer At 2014 Summer X Games

Kanye West has been announced as the headlining performer for the 2014 Summer X Games in Austin, Texas.

Among other headlining acts are Mac Miller, Dillon Francis, Mayer Hawthorne and Flaming Lips. The X Music event will take place at the Austin360 Amphitheater.

The Chicago rapper is finishing up his Yeezus Tour with nine more performances in February. His high energy and reputation for unpredictable performances should fit right in with the X Games atmosphere.

“X Games Austin 2014, will be a four day sports, music and lifestyle festival,” said Scott Guglielmino, Sr.Vice President of programming and X Games for ESPN via the X Games website. “The best athletes, competing at the highest levels remain the core of X Games.  But we’re incredibly excited about being able to create a full-scale festival around that, which celebrates some of the other elements of the X Games lifestyle – music, friends, family, food and fun.”

ESPN and ABC will televise a combined 20 hours of live X Games events, with a variety of BMX, Skateboard, Moto X and Rally and Off-Road Truck competitions. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, January 24th viaTicketmaster.
