LA Lewis wants to enter The Voice

Hailing himself as the superman of the dancehall, LA Lewis says he is now gearing up to compete on next season’s The Voice competition.

Hailing Tessanne Chin as one of the greats such as himself, Bob Marley, and Usain Bolt, LA Lewis told THE WEEKEND STAR that he has already narrowed down the songs he might sing in the blind-audition round.

“Mi feel like mi a go audition with either a Bob Marley or Michael Jackson song. Yuh done know say L.A. Lewis always a change up tings, so maybe mi even drop in a dancehall song,” he said.

Questioned as to what prompted his decision to enter, he simply stated, “because a mi name L.A. Lewis.”

“The people dem a say mi fi enter. Dem tweet me, facebook me, etc, and a say mi need fi enter. Mi never go inna nutten yet and lose. Mi haffi big up Tessanne because she deal wid it proper. She gwaan good. She make Jamaica proud. I am already among the greats in Jamaica, so mi a go take it one step further and be the male Jamaican winner of The Voice,” he said.

When THE WEEKEND STAR pointed out that it was a singing competition, L.A. Lewis was quick to point out that because he is such a great singer, once he chooses the songs that fits his voice range, he would be able to overcome.

“Mi just wudda need fi find the song dem whe my voice fit. Plus the coach would know all these things. Mi a pree fi go pon Cee-Lo or Adam Levine team. Adam have more swag. Everybody always want L.A. Lewis pon dem team, so I am confident say all four judge a go want me on dem team,” he emphasised.

He continued that he was the only artiste in Jamaica to not have a number-one song but has the most supporters.

“Look out fi L.A. Lewis on The Voice next year. We a go take the victory easily and ‘soboliously’,” he said.
