Lady G Has The World Smiling

It was an eventful summer for dancehall’s foundation artist, Lady G! It all started in Toronto, Canada where she was recognized at the 4th Annual ReggaeXclusive Awards for Top International Foundation DJ & Singjay. The 34th edition of Montreal’s renowned “Jamaica Day” had Lady G as the headline artist, backed by The Indie Rootz Band. Now she is steering her focus towards her new E.P “Smile”, which was released July 17th 2015 and is available on-line.

Since late 2013, the dancehall legend herself has been in collaboration with one of Montreal’s uprising labels “Indie Rootz Records” and together they released her new E.P. thoughtfully titled “Smile”. Her first single from the project, “Rock and Come In” was dubbed as her comeback from various media sources, it also features upcoming songstress Shae Mill from Ochi, Backed up by a video that was filmed on location in Kingston. In addition, while still in Montreal, she filmed more 2 videos, soon to be released.

“I loved the vibes while completing this project. Working with Brian Kotler and Bobby Pottinger of Indie Rootz Records along with my brother Vincent “Poncho” Wright made everything just right. My song “Smile” has a very special meaning for me and it will for you too.” said Lady G

The 7-track E.P features songs “After Work Party”, “Calling Out”, “Rock and Come In” ft Shae Mill, “Smile”, “Nothing Boring”, “Little Girl” and “Jamaica”. Each song offers a unique sound, featuring foundation reggae and dancehall beats while bringing back the classic dancehall flow, her lyrics full of positivity and inspiration. This E.P is a true representation of her growth, preserving her classic style.
