“Finishing touches being done to their newly constructed building further on Red Hills Road. Windows are being installed, rendering of walls, installation of doors and other fixtures is in full gear. Removal to new location is planned for the first half of 2016.

Our success has been the high ethical and moral standards we bring to our business” speaking to Vision exclusively, the mother of four who is an executive who helps to run the business stated.

We started in 1992 with two branches the second branch located on Constant Spring Road was closed approximately 5 years ago. We started the new building 2015.

Fire Destroyed Business

“We walk by Faith and not by sight”, Melonie Thomas continuing said. “We do not function in the normal economy … we function in the economy of God. Our niche is volume and keep the profit margin down … we use the Walmart model. The internet gave me the inspiration … you have to restructure as required.”

General Election

Regarding the long toted election, Melonie Thomas remarked: I see a bright future … a General Election does not affect my outlook. This is a family owned business. We deal with customers on a one to one basis. Uniformed security is better for customers feeling and lowers the level of theft especially in the Christmas Season.” Melonie Thomas concluded as she flashed her trademark smile. Asked about customer response to new building under construction?

“There is goodwill” … Melonie Thomas opined. The rather silent up to now Lloyd Thomas remarked:

“My wife has played an important role in the business … I would not think of selling shares … this is a private company and we intended to keep it so”. Mr. Lloyd Thomas, the Chairman of the Company
concluded.

Melonie Thomas Got Personal

“We have been married for 30 years, and our union has produced four children. Floyd 27, Fabian 23, Lloy-Ann 17, and Lonique 13. I was a cashier at Cookie Jar, now Access Financial Services. Whether I earn a salary or not it is my personal satisfaction what matters … a sense of pride and fulfilment … whenever a problem is solved it brings me a sense of satisfaction. As a woman of God I know what is expected of me and my family supports this Christian philosophy.Christianity helps me to keep the company and its dealings in straight light. No goods without legitimate invoices. Prayers are done every Monday morning. I practice sound industrial relation practices … all remittance to government departments are done …GCT returns etc. We are an above board company. We take our corporate responsibility seriously.”Melonie Thomas concluded.

Gas Riots

Turning to her husband … the company Secretary stated ….”I am very proud of my husband, with regard to cheque (check) distribution …. we do not believe in bounce cheques … since our inception we have never done that and intend to never go down that road … even in the face of disaster as a result of the gas riots of 1989 when we were totally burn out. From what we got from insurance we settled our debtors first. We have risen from the ashes and like an eagle continue to soar by the Grace of God. I was baptized at Oakland Road Apostolic Church then led by Bishop L .M. Allison.

We have a staff of seventeen.” She concluded.

Foot note

In the massive gas riots of 1989 the business was completely destroyed. They are survivors indeed deserve our qudos.
