The event which fetes children in the surrounding areas of Free Town, Bodles, Sandy Bay and Longville Park has been going from strength to strength thanks to the kind support of friends and companies such as Lasco, Juici Patties Pepsi, Honey Bun and Supreme Venture the number of children being treated yearly has been growing.
“This year our 13th anniversary we are going all out to ensure the children have a great time. However, while we have managed to feed and give them entertainment for the day, we are still falling short in giving each child a gift to leave with,” said organiser Cecelia Campbell-Livingston.
Livingston is making the call others to help by donating toys or games to help make this a super year for the anticipated 350 children.

Pastor for the church Zebulah Aiken has also added her voice in the anniversary event. “It warms my heart each year when I come out and see the total fun these children are having … from the smallest to the oldest which includes our teenagers, it’s a great day for them,” she said.

For some of the children it is the only Christmas celebration they will see as tough times has ensured the grandmarket shopping is a thing of the past.

“It’s been 13 great years and we are looking forward to some more great ones as we strive to make the children’s day year after year,” said Livingston.
