Papa San to headline at Gosplash

Gospel-reggae superstar Papa San will be the headliner of this year’s Gosplash: Double Praise concert.

Dubbed as the greatest one-day Christian retreat, it will be held on Emancipation Day at Sugarman’s Beach, Hellshire, St Catherine.

“The beachwill be fully transformed into a haven of family, friends, fun, food and fellowship.

“This family oriented event is set to be a crowd pleaser, offering for the first time in the history of gospel in Jamaica, two gospel concerts, one big family fun day for one entry fee,” Markland Edwards, head honcho of Action Entertainment, said.

Organised byAction Entertainment in association with RJR Communications Group, it will be the third incarnation of the event.

The event will provide water slides, bounce-a-bouts, trampoline, mechanical bull, rides, video games, give-a-ways, family oriented competitions, prizes and surprises, along with an array offood booths offering a wide assortment of foods ranging from the seafood to pan chicken, hot dogs, snow cones, pop corn and cotton candy.

The event will treat its patrons to a two hour midday concert (Mid Day Medley), featuring some of Jamaica’s most talented gospel artistes.

The main ‘gospel-splash’ starts at 5 pm.Papa San will lead an impressive line-up of some of Jamaica’s top gospel artistes including DJ Nicholas, Ryan Mark, Jai Kingston, Jermaine Edwards, Omari, Chozenn, Jai Kingston, Katalyst Crew and Kevin Smith.

Great set

“Papa San is going to deliver a great set,” Edwards said.

Since 1997, the swift speaking lyricist has released five billboard gospel albums and has collaborated with a number of international artistes. He recently recorded a single on the ‘Money Mi A Look’ rhythm for True Loyal Records.

Part of the proceeds will go towards the Braeton Primary and Junior High School computer lab.
