Perspective: Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna Seeks PNP VP Post … Accused Of Stabbing Portia In The Back …
Nomination opens in July for Comrades who wish to be nominated for President, VP etc.
These are the candidates so far…Lisa Hanna and Dr. Angela Brown Burke, Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew, and Dr. Wykeham McNeil, former Tourism & Entertainment Minister for the PNP.
Meanwhile there are media reports that Dr. Angela Brown Burke has been at odds with Lisa Hanna for allegedly posting an article which allegedly accuses Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna of allegedly stabbing Party Leader Portia Simpson Miller ..”in the back.”
Peter Bunting has offered himself as a candidate to challenge Portia as party President. Their annual Conference takes place in September. Bunting declared to Senior Reporter, Abka Fitz-Henley: “At an opportune time I will announce the launch of my campaign … when that is determined” Bunting declared.
Mayor Brown Burke, current PNP sitting VP has declared her intention to offer herself for re-election as VP. She said there is no malice “I posted this article to stimulate discussion … there is no malice.”
MP lisa “Jezebel” Hanna recently said she thinks this is the right time for renewal as there has not been an election for VP for the past eight years. Hanna also stated that she was resigning or is not offering herself as Region 1 chairman.
Lisa also said that there is need for leadership renewal in the PNP. Many have interpreted her alleged comment as trying to “burn out” the veterans in leadership positions in the PNP.
Divisive Leader
Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna has been seen as a divisive figure and was even described as a “Tribalist” by Minister “Babsy” Grange of JLP vintage.
Newly appointed State Minister Everrald Warrington, JLP MP Old Harbour, described Hanna as a “Jezebel” in Parliament recently after she alleged “insulted his manhood” by allegedly calling him an unthinkable name … under House rules there is the established “Parliamentary Immunity.” The JLP State Minister responded by styling Hanna as a “Jezebel.”
Constituency Turmoil
