Perspective; Poetic Commentary

The high murder rate at 6 per day currently and perceived poor leadership/corruption in the police force is a big issue today in Jamaica.  Why we cannot say. One thing that is sure, we cannot fail to take a decisive stance.

Is the Police Fired?

The National Security Minister has taken a defiant stance
Police Commissioner’s future may be in the balance?
The murder rate and Sandz fall out …
As the public makes exit shout

Someone must be held accountable …
Is the deafening cry from even those considered mentally incapable …
Those even seen as lazy …
Least to mention who may be crazy

Following the Sandz debacle
Minister Montague will not allow any obstacle …
To be a visible or invisible fence
Instead will act with defiance …

If you do not act when you see smoke …
People will see you as a joke
You could be a target for ridicule
They may even view you as a fool …

You must shout … fire, fire …
Immediately put out the fire
You cannot ignore the smoke
To do otherwise could be seen as a joke..

The failure for Commissioner Quallo to compose an acceptable report …
Was taken to the public court
Pressure is being put on minister Montague …
By Police Officer’s Association … to name a few …

Are they on some political queue?
Or just the minister they want to chew? …
If the commissioner has to be let go …
Let it be so …

Do not interfere with the row …
Allow the boat to flow …
The boat must be allowed to sail
To do otherwise would be pail

Accountability is the order of the day …
There can be no other way
The minister cannot look the other way
To such a stance we would say no way …
