Perspective: Retired Notorious Criminal Pastor … Troy Cameron

Baptized 500  ….

“I am one of he mess God has turned into a message …
One of the test God has turned into a testimony.” Asserts Pastor Troy Cameron.

Anything God touches he transforms … this is the only rational explanation for the turn around from a life of crime for gangster Mr. Troy Cameron, his real name, who prior to his conversion to becoming a born again Christian led a colourful life of crime  …. like Saul his conversion occurred during one of his nefarious exploits.  He is no longer public enemy number one, instead a real transformer of lives. A public enemy against  sinful lives.  Baptism of new converts and transformer of souls for Christ, is what Cameron is about today. Baptized 500 lives today.

Safe feet

Cameron was on the police’s most want list for a protracted period.  He escaped many police drag nets and left many noted, if not seasoned cops like Tony Laing and Renato Adams (aka Saddam) shaking their heads in disbelief, as they came close to either killing or capturing this wiley wrong doer who was on their most wanted list. As Cameron puts it in his own words: “My feet were my chief weapons, and I was able to elude capture by skillfully making good my escape through a network of gullies, tunnels and scaling fences or walls.”  In the twin island republic of Trinidad & Tobago … elsewhere I have internationally been witnessing to others to help to transform lives.   This is a fascinating story of criminality, repeated prison incarnations  by one ex con in his own words as Cameron related same to Cheryl Neuville on Revtalk on TVJ aired Sunday, April 1, 2018 in the afternoon.

500 Baptized

Cameron led a life of public menace and wanton disregard for social norms … now reformed and not ashamed to relate his past. Reforming lives even outside Jamaica’s shores. “I was able to baptize 500 so far” For the past 20 years Cameron has abandoned a life of crime. “God has been good to me” Cameron conceded.

Prison Riot

Then Prison Chief Prescod decided to issue condoms to inmates which offended them badly.  This was 1997 …. “hell broke out and for a week there was bloodshed … 17 inmates killed, as the warders locked the prison at Tower Street and abandoned same.  Soldiers had to restore order a week later.

Leg Shot

Ironically he was shot by police in an escape bid but was still able to elude capture on Slipe Road in the vicinity of the Chinese Cemetery, again eluding a planned police operation. Cameron’s escape and recuperation was facilitated by cronies and he was doctored by an ex soldier who used  bizzy, a wonder plant with curative properties … especially to counteract poison and antibiotics to heal the gun shot wound.  “They stuffed bizzy in the wound” relates Cameron.

Grenada

“I have established a prison ministry in Grenada.  “God has been good to me”

Married

“I am now married to a most wonderful woman, I put her to live in a gated community. I laid with her and she bore me two sons  … my wife got a 10 year US visa but they have refused to issue one to me. They said I should get the convictions expunged.  The US authorities have asked that this should be done.”  Revealed Cameron on Revtalk.  Pastor Cameron said further that: “The Jamaican authorities do not expunge
certain criminal records.” He concluded.

We wish him well in his new walk with Christ.
