Perspective: Sting has lost its venom …. Minister ‘Babsy’ Grange

Minister-Grange-Official-1-640x425For the thirty year old musical staple called ‘Sting’ to be in trouble to the point of,bot being held this 2016 sounds so strange that I am struggling to maintain my composure.

Reports that the entertainers/artistes are opting to hold their own shows is an interesting new development, to say the least.

This is a very new development worthy of note. Is it that some of the artistes were not paid by promoters hence this stance?. We are just s This view was reportedly expressed by Culture minister Grange. Is this an official position?

We cannot readily dismiss such comments from Minister Grange as she known to be in the know. She has manged artistes like Shabba.

Sting had musical clashes which gave it a very distinct flavour and allowed the promotion to take on it’s own persona, so to speak. I grew up on Sting … for me and many it was a big thing that dancehall fans looked forward to.

Venue

There have seen venue issues but other shows have been plagued by this problem before, but endured. Will Sting return? We do hope and pray it will, for music’s sake. This show was genuine hard core reggae menu that had become a calendar event year after year. Thirty years is in fact three decades to put its longevity in real perspective. This is not a flash in the pan event to be scoffed at … this event stood the test of time and endured.

We do hope and pray Sting is being reorganized to return bigger and better. Minister Grange feels this way …”Sting will return” she is quoted as saying.

Will a knights in shining armour ride through town and return Sting to its former glory? They say in Jamaica “wha no dead no call it duppy.” We hope this is so.
