Poetic Perspective: Petrojam, What An Oil Spill, Eh!

This is quite an oil spill
It does make for a thrill
With little frill …
We know why such a gas bill

Staff being excessively paid
12 million at the HR grade …
With not even a second degree
Testifying at Sitting, with glee …

“I am half way in my master’s degree …
Give me a break you see …
Is there an equivalent …
Yes, under a Petrojam tent …

Senior managers get more
This is how they tour …
Consumers fit the oil bill
When at the pump they fill

They use the Gulf reference …
This benchmark, their preference
There is no transparency …
Some would say plain “trickery”

The perception of scandal looms
There are signs in the rooms …
Energy Minister is relieved of job
No one seem to have a sob …

Wheatley seem not to get it …
Ministerial responsibility is fit …
Alive and well today …
As it was yesterday …

Try to read the tea leaf …
Do understand, and take leave …
To appear to be hampering probe
Is not done across the globe …

Is this the right thing to do?
Or is this long overdue?
We are a global village ….
We do not operate alone by Will

We need to respect the norm
They are not there to adorn Things go wrong ministers walk
This is not empty talk …

Oil spills are to the environment
As leadership is to governance
They both can be devastating
Distasteful, demean, depressing,

In the case of Wheatley …
Can create political adversity …
Opposition’s role is to tear apart
That is how they play their part

To expose any perceived wrong..
And to harp on it,  as if a song …
Good opposition in politics …
Tearing down bricks & bricks …

Oh! That Petrojam oil spill …
Our news cycle it does fill
For the government it is tough
Media cannot get enough …

When we take full responsibility
We avert certain adversity …
People take us seriously …
They see clarity … transparency

People want openness …
They see that as bless …
PM said in Parliament “false”
Many of the allegations are false

Will PM restore Wheatley?

NIA got Ja$100, 000 donation
Is this a conflict situation …?
An integrity watchdog falters …
This leads to verbal slaughters

Leadeth not if in compromise …
Such is not wise …
There has to be a clear rule …
Hence there is certain ridicule

Who will clear all this mess?
Leadership and integrity at test
There needs to be an apology
So as to restore sanity ….

A comedy of errors ….
Or just conduct of bedfellows?
Do we need to wait and see ….
So we can be morally free?

This is a devastating oil spill …
At the Petrojam grille?

Ah, ah, ah …..
