Reggae veteran Sanchez, one of the headline acts billed to perform at the fifth annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, Roy Wilkins Park, Queens, New York, next Sunday, will not appear as scheduled.

According to a release sent to THE WEEKEND STAR, Eddy Edwards, chairman, Jamaican Jerk Festival USA Inc, said having spoken to Sanchez’s manager, the entertainer would not be able to perform because of personal reasons.

“I spoke with his manager and was told he will not be able to perform, as scheduled, because of personal circumstances beyond his control. Sanchez apologises to his fans and will make it up to them in the future,” he said.

Sanchez, will be replaced by international reggae/dancehall superstar Cham.

“Cham is a respected artiste, who has recorded hits like Ghetto Story, Vitamin S, Many Many and Babylon Bwoy, and has collaborated with international superstars such as Alicia Keys and Sean Paul. We are delighted he was able to accept our invitation at such short notice,” Edwards said.

Cham will join other acts such as Fab 5 Band, Romain Virgo, Carlene Davis and Kokodoo.
