Soca Brainwash Africa steals the show at Labor Day Weekend

1) Soca Brainwash Africa made history as the biggest event to ever take place at the Brooklyn Mirage.

New York, NY (Sonique Solutions) – The action-packed Labor Day Weekend in New York is best defined through the vibrancy of its events. On a weekend filled with numerous stage shows, boat rides and backyard parties, the festival known as “Soca Brainwash” stood tall above the rest and surpassed many expectations.

Making its return to the concrete jungle, the event was this year titled “Soca Brainwash Africa” and was held at the trendy Brooklyn Mirage.

Attendees were seen fully decked out in African print and afro-centric garb at the event.

Boasting a packed venue full of music lovers and Caribbean culture enthusiasts, Soca Brainwash Africa made history as the biggest event to ever take place at the Brooklyn Mirage. In true Soca Brainwash fashion the festival’s team went above and beyond with décor, effects and technology to transform the location into an atmosphere which was complementary to the overall theme.

With regards to the theme of Africa, this was seen and experienced in abundance both musically and visually at venue’s indoor and outdoor segments. Attendees were seen fully decked out in African print and afro-centric garb while they sipped drinks out of their special, wooden ‘Soca Brainwash’ branded mugs and admired the organizers’ attention to detail and standout creations e.g. the Giant Elephant and Egyptian Sphinx.

One patron from NYC shared, “I love that the overall décor is unique to the theme and that the theme itself was consistent throughout the evening. Also, I just adore the quality of these souvenir drinking mugs”.

In addition to multiple bars which were strategically situated throughout the venue, Soca Brainwash also provided various food stations where patrons could purchase Caribbean and international snacks such as bake & shark, empanadas, stone oven pizza, burgers and fries.

Riggo Suave was one of the DJs on the event’s all-star international cast.

Soca Brainwash Africa, lit up the Big Apple with an array of DJ’s and MC’s from around the world representing countries such as Africa, St. Lucia, Panama, Russia, Barbados, T&T and the US. Well known personalities including Barrie Hype, Back 2 Basics, Riggo Suave, Jus Jay, Mad Russian, Freeze International, and the man himself, DJ private Ryan had exhilarating sets on the event’s two main stages.
