GIVE HILLARY A CHANCE

As America Votes, there is a ground swell for continuity of programmes … Obama had to overcome many odds as a person of colour. Obama dared to and had the audacity to dream. To live the hither to elusive dream of Rosa Parks who dared to want to sit in the bus … wherever she wanted. Then there was that historic speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. … that famous speech” I have a dream that one day ….” This must have motivated an impressionable Barack Obama who became a lawyer and later a US Senator.

Hillary saw Margaret Thatcher in Britain rise to be PM and even Portia Simpson Miller in Jamaica also as PM. She said my time is now and I have paid my dues.

Yes, you have more than paid your dues, and the Oval Office awaits your arrival, Madam President … on the verge of coronation.

The child of an immigrant who tested the American dream. Broke the code and won the presidency of the most powerful country in the world.

First Female …

Will Hillary break through the proverbial glass ceiling and get the top job as president?

If the polls of Hillary being 6 percent ahead are to be used as a guide, then there is a distinct possibility this may just happen. She has earned her way, been tested, has had her challenges, overcame her hurdles but she never ran away and most of all she has pedigree. She would bring to the WHITE HOUSE a wealth of experience …possibly the most qualified applicant for the job.

Hillary was a former Senator, Secretary of State, former First Lady, mother and wife … least to mention a lawyer.

Her rather impressive resume is not without blemish … she has been accused of poor judgment when she used an unsecured server to transmit sensitive information.

Detractors accuse her of untruthfulness and her failure to do enough to protect Americans in Bengazi. She was hauled before the House Committee but was not criminally charged. Trump says she is “not fit for the Office of President.”

Is he really fit, also ? …”Can a pot curse a kettle that it is too black”?

Trump

He who is without sin, throw the first stone. Trump is not without sin either. He has been accused of groping and alleged sexual misconduct, for avoiding to pay taxes and a host of bankruptcies
in his business dealings. Trump speaks in derogatory ways of women. For example referring to Hillary as that “Nasty woman” …. and generally disrespectfully of those he dislikes.

As an Honorary Citizen of Indiana, USA, I want the best fior a country that honoured and showed me much respect … so I have more than academic interest in the outcome of this presidential race.

As the world watches and America votes, at least one Jamaican will be viewing the outcome with great expectation
my hope is for good sense and civility to be the order of the day.
What is your view. Let us know … I is Trump fit for duty as Commander – in- Chief?

The verdict will be known tomorrow evening … as usual it is your choice which we will respect.
