New York-based Reggae singer Tom Laing is in an upbeat mood as he prepares for the release of his debut EP, Love Is OK.

The project, scheduled to be released this summer, will be distributed by VP Records through its digital arm, VPAL.

“I’m very excited about this project, I think it has the potential to be a huge success. We are in the final stages of production right now. Over the last few weeks, we have tweaked some of the vocals on a couple of the songs and we’ve completed the mixes. We are now working on the mastering. Everything is coming together nicely,” Laing said.

The first single to be released off the six-track EP will be the title track, Love Is Ok. The song, which features Britian-born vocalist, Mercy Gayle, is a beautiful lovers’-rock track that is bound to tickle the fancy of music lovers all over the world.

“It’s a wonderful song, I have to give a lot of props to Mercy Gayle. She’s an awesome singer. The fans are going to love it. I plan to have it released before the end of this month,” said Laing.

Laing’s cover of Gregory Isaacs’ Night Nurse continues its way up the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart. The Donni Marshall-produced song is at number three.
