SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico _ U.S. authorities have detained 10 migrants from Cuba and the Dominican Republic, including a 3-year-old boy, who were found on an uninhabited island near Puerto Rico.

Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection say they also found the body of one migrant floating near Mona Island.

The agency said the group arrived by boat at Mona early Thursday from the neighbouring Dominican Republic. Human smugglers often drop off migrants on the little island, which is between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
