Afar Music Group and DJ Kenny release LevelUp

Afar Music Group (AMG) and DJ Kenny have collaborated on a new riddim, Level Up which is already creating a stir in the dancehall.

LevelUp features the sounds of a host of big name and on-the-rise artistes. Among then are international reggae star Junior “One Blood” Reid who sings about about his mother’s love on ”My Mommy”. With Mother’s Day a near memory, this song was pulled up on radio and in the dance numerous times.

Still living his dream, Nesbeth makes a impassioned statement about the dangers of  street life on ”Tony Tony Tony”’ while recording artiste D Medz  felt compelled to sing about “Africaness”. This song encourages black people to cherish and honour their African roots; stop bleaching their skin and dig deep within their souls for their purpose in life.

Rising star Keneil Brown, better known as Kenny Bling sings his respect for his real friends on ”Mi Chargie”’.

Other artistes on the LevelUp project include Oriel, Clara, and Blakx.

Speaking to the origins of the project, Linval “Shem” Brown of the AMG camp stated:  “This project came about after myself and DJ Kenny had a long conversation about the business of marketing and promoting reggae/dancehall music. While reasoning about what’s being done and how we can do things different and better we decide on joining forcing in promoting a riddim, hence the name LevelUp. With the release of this LevelUp riddim we are also introducing a few new artist, in particular Kenny Bling, who will soon release his debut EP under the Afar Music Group banner.”
