Andrew Holness Highlights Government’s Investments in Advanced Security Systems

Kingston, Jamaica – Prime Minister Andrew Holness has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving Jamaica’s security infrastructure through significant investments in advanced systems such as Jamaica Eye and the C5 Command Centre. In a recent announcement, Holness outlined how these technologies aim to enhance the nation’s ability to combat crime and ensure safer communities.

At the core of this initiative is a robust surveillance system powered by Jamaica Eye, a nationwide network of cameras that monitor public spaces. These feeds are connected to the newly established C5 Command Centre, a centralized intelligence hub where data from the cameras will be analyzed in real-time to guide police operations effectively.

To support the seamless integration of this system, the government is also prioritizing the expansion of broadband connectivity across the island. This enhanced digital infrastructure will enable uninterrupted transmission of footage from Jamaica Eye to the C5, ensuring rapid response capabilities.

Prime Minister Holness emphasized that once fully operational, this interconnected system will strengthen the police force’s ability to respond to criminal activities and foster safer communities. The initiative reflects the government’s broader strategy to integrate technology into national security efforts.

Jamaica Eye and the C5 Command Centre are part of a series of measures being undertaken to modernize the country’s approach to public safety, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to leveraging innovation for the benefit of all Jamaicans.

This investment in advanced security solutions aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance law enforcement and create a more secure environment for citizens and visitors alike.
