Today Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness met with Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis. The Jamaican Prime Minister is in Bahamas for the Grand reopening of Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa. The Jamaican PM took to twitter to share some pictures of the two leaders and too release the following brief statement.
“This morning, I met with Bahamian Prime Minister, the Honourable Philip Davis. I am in the Bahamas for the Grand Re-opening of Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort and Offshore Island. With the ravages of the pandemic, I am extremely pleased to see these types of investments being made which signals the rebounding of the tourism industry in the Caribbean.”
The Prime Ministers are encouraged by the investments being made in the Caribbean and the signal that tourism in the Caribbean is beginning to rebound.
As the global economy took a hit from the Covid-19 pandemic small island nations in the Caribbean were hit especially hard as travel bans and restrictions were implemented by countries around the world.
