BOB MARLEY ESTATE SIGNS ON TO MARIJUANA BRANDING DEAL

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) _ A Seattle-based company wants to make Bob Marley the face of marijuana. Privateer Holdings has announced it’s reached a licensing deal with Marley’s heirs to offer what it’s calling the “world’s first global cannabis brand.” It will be called Marley Natural and will include lotions and creams infused with marijuana and strains of marijuana, where regulations permit. Some Jamaicans are not happy about the move. Maxine Stow of the Rastafari Millennium Council argues Marley “was the least of The Wailers around the issue of ganja legalization.” Others are upset that Marley Natural will be based in New York.
