British man and wife hacked to death at home in Caribbean island of Tobago
PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad(AP) _ Police are investigating the slaying of a British man and his wife who were found hacked to death in their home on the Caribbean island of Tobago.
Trinidad and Tobago police have identified the slain couple as Richard and Grace Wheeler. The bloody body of the lawyer was found in his Carnbee home, while his wife was found in their yard with her throat slit.
There have been no arrests. Acting Tobago Police Superintendent Joanne Archie said Wednesday that investigators are “following every possible lead.”
Richard Wheeler was originally from the British city of Sheffield but lived in the twin-island Caribbean country for years.
The killings come less than a year after a German couple were fatally hacked on a beach near their Tobago vacation home.
