A large quantity of cocaine was seized at the Ian Fleming International Airport in St Mary by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and Law Enforcement Agents from overseas.

Based on reports, this seems to be the largest cocaine bust in Jamaica’s history.  On Friday, police seized 25 million US dollars the equivalent of 3.7 billion Jamaican dollars worth of cocaine.  No one was arrested for the seizure.

Members of the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch Narcotics Division and US law enforcement agents carried out the operation between 2PM and 8PM.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey informed that “the cocaine was destined for Canada and our police were early on the scene”.
