Canadian Artist D Howell Teams with Charly Black and Yosi Fuentes for “Oh Na Na”

D Howell Oh Na Na Collaboration Brings Dancehall Energy to Canada’s Independent Music Scene

TORONTO, CANADA — Ontario-based independent recording artist D Howell is preparing to release his latest single, “Oh Na Na,” featuring Jamaican dancehall star Charly Black and respected artist Yosi Fuentes.

The track officially drops on April 24 and marks another milestone in Howell’s effort to establish himself within Canada’s independent music landscape.

Blending Dancehall and Contemporary Sounds

According to promotional material, “Oh Na Na” combines modern production with emotionally driven storytelling, reflecting Howell’s focus on authenticity and lived experience.

The song centres on the memory of “the girl that got away,” following the emotional journey of someone unable to forget a woman encountered at a club.

As a self-produced artist, Howell maintains creative control over his music, overseeing beat production, songwriting, vocal recording, and master ownership.

“My intention is to create music that resonates across backgrounds and communities, offering listeners something they can relate to or find strength in,” Howell stated.

Charly Black Adds International Dancehall Appeal

The collaboration also brings international attention through Charly Black, best known for the global hit “Gyal You A Party Animal,” which earned Gold certification from Pro-Música Brasil (PMB).

The addition of Yosi Fuentes further broadens the track’s Caribbean and international appeal, creating a blend of dancehall, contemporary Caribbean rhythms, and crossover influences.

Independent Growth in Canada’s Music Industry

Howell’s team says the artist is focused on building a sustainable career while contributing to the growth of Canada’s independent music scene.

The release of “Oh Na Na” is expected to be followed by another single titled “In The Air,” timed around the FIFA World Cup, with partial proceeds planned for charitable initiatives.

The artist’s music is described as deeply rooted in resilience, personal growth, and emotional honesty — qualities Howell believes help audiences connect with his work.

Building Momentum Through Authentic Storytelling

Operating independently has allowed Howell to shape a recognizable sound while remaining closely connected to the personal experiences that influence his music.

His growing profile reflects the increasing diversity of Canada’s independent music sector, where Caribbean and multicultural influences continue to shape emerging artists and audiences alike.

Additional information and music links are available through D Howell’s official social media and streaming platforms.
