Dhawan, Dhoni fifties lift India to 317 6 vs Bangladesh in 3rd ODI

DHAKA, Bangladesh _ Half-centuries from opener Shikhar Dhawan and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni lifted India to a respectable 317-6 against a Bangladesh chasing a series whitewash in the third one-day internationall on Wednesday.

The in-form Dhawan made 75, and Dhoni 69.

Set 318 to win, Bangladesh has chased down a higher score only once, when it made 322-4 chasing 319 against Scotland at the recent Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

Ambati Rayudu added 44. His 93-run partnership with Dhoni was crucial in steadying the India innings after they were 158-3.

Rohit Sharma gave the side a fluent start with run-a-ball 29, and Virat Kohli contributed 25.

For Bangladesh, captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the most successful bowler with 3-76. Newcomer Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2-57.
