We say to members of the Diaspora stand up for Jamaica now than ever before. Continue to send your remittances and ensure that you hold a piece of the rock called Jamaica. This is a paradise … the best place on earth. Buy a home here, open a business … do not allow others to buy up the best spots.

Once a Jamaican always a Jamaican. Return one day to retire here with your skills and possessions.

It is only natural that some of you are having feelings of regret and uncertainty about the future.

In 1961 Jamaicans as you recall voted to leave the West Indies Federation. Fifty years on we have our own currency, the fastest humans in Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Frazer-Pryce.

It has not been a bed of roses but we are little and proud. We are highly respected worldwide for our beauty and talent.
