Roseau, Dominica — Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit welcomed the Italian Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Fabrizio Nicoletti, during a courtesy call this week, highlighting the strengthening of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

In a statement shared on social media, Prime Minister Skerrit said the discussions “reaffirmed our shared commitment to addressing climate change,” a critical issue for Dominica as it continues to pursue resilience in the face of increasing climate threats. Ambassador Nicoletti also emphasized the potential for collaboration in agriculture—an area of growing interest as Dominica seeks to boost food security and sustainable farming practices.

During their meeting, Prime Minister Skerrit pledged Dominica’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Italy, and both parties expressed interest in exploring new avenues for cooperation.

The visit marks a continuation of Dominica’s diplomatic engagement with European nations as it builds partnerships aligned with its national development goals, particularly in climate resilience, sustainability, and agriculture.
