It was capacity filled church at the East Queen’s Street Baptist, Down Town, Kingston, Jamaica W.I. as the massive descended on the cramped grounds filling up the parking lot and leaving little room down stairs of the two level building of the historic landmark corked, as they say in the streets.
Dressed in white behind the family is the Baptist Women’s League. Sister Deacon Jarrett was treasurer for 30 years for that organization.
An apology for absence was tendered and read by the officiating minister on behalf of Mr. Alwin Marshall-Squire, Editor -in-Chief, Vision Newspaper Canada.
Senator Floyd Morris, Orlando Brown, former Junior Foriegn Minister PNP Government, Custos Rev. McKenzie, Custos of St. Catherine, Dr. Grace Mclean, Chief Education Officer, Ministry of Education, Ambassador Karl Marshall to name a few of the dignitarie, family & friends in attendance. It was an unofficial “state funeral”.
