Dr Collin O Jarret Now Professor
Well known Educator and Media Practitioner COLIN O’NEIL JARRETT, PhD is now the recipient of an ACADEMIC PROFESSOR OF PHILOSOPHY in MEDIA STUDIES from the Harris University received in March 2018 along with an HONORARY PROFESSOR in HUMANE LETTERS from the Los Angeles Development Church Institute/LADCI; January 2018; both institutions in the USA. He also received an Ambassadorial Title from the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association/CICA University and Seminary awarding him the title “His Excellency”.
His Excellency Professor Colin O Jarrett; with vast experience spanning 30 years in teaching; 17 of which are in educational administration and 20 years in media, is also the holder of a PhD in Business Administration with concentration in International Marketing and a minor in Health Administration from the prestigious government-funded research University of Southampton, UK along with a Master of Business Administration/MBA in Health Care Administration from Harris University, USA.
In March 2018, His Excellency Professor Jarrett; who has been a Church Organist, Pianist and Conductor for over 40 years, is the recipient of the Honorary Doctor of Divinity, DD and Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Special Envoy/CDSE, Specialist in Sacred Music from the CICA International University and Seminary, Canada and USA. He has also been named as the University’s Representative for the Caribbean of the CICA International University and Seminary.
In April 2017, His Excellency Professor Jarrett received the “Key to the City of St Marc, Haiti” for Outstanding Contribution to Education in Haiti.
In addition, Professor Jarrett is the recipient of The Caribbean and African Faith Based Diaspora Leadership Council International Award/CAFLC; endorsed by Former US President Barrack Obama and The White House in June 2015 for Outstanding Leadership in Ministry and Education within the Caribbean Region and was the only recipient of the Award from the Caribbean that year.
In addition to being a Senior Editor of “McKoy’s News Online Paper” and also a Contributor to “Vision Newspaper” in the Diaspora, His Excellency Professor Colin O Jarrett is the President and CEO of Health, Education and Counselling Institute/HECOIN (an international flagship educational institution in Jamaica and the Caribbean). He is former National Youth Director of the Jamaica Baptist Union Youth Department, former Church Administrator of the East Queen Street Baptist Church, Kingston, former Deputy Chairman of the St James Red Cross, former Advisor to former Mayor of Montego Bay Noel Donaldson, has received 100% passes as an Educator of both CSEC and CAPE examinations and is past President of Students’ Union at the College of Arts, Science and Technology, CAST (now University of Technology/UTech). He is the first Senior Administrator of the Canadian Licensed Practical Nursing Programme in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
His teaching experience includes secondary and tertiary levels with focus on Management, Accounting, Economics, Administration, Business Communication and Social Studies. He is the Author of the textbook: Principles of the Business for the Caribbean by Colin O Jarrett.
An Educator, Marketer, Health Administrator, Media Practitioner, Church Organist and Deputy Music Director at the East Queen Street Baptist Church, Professor Colin O Jarrett is also a Communication Specialist. He is a Senior News Producer and Writer, “Go to Air” Technical Studio Operator and is one of the hosts of one of the station’s top-rated programme “The Morning Watch”, heard Tuesdays through Thursdays, 7AM-8AM at the #1 religious radio station in Jamaica, LOVE 101FM for several years.
His Excellency Professor Jarrett is strong on the view that the collaboration with CICA; which is in several countries in the World and HECOIN mainly in the Caribbean will have both educational institutions at the cutting edge of technology with great potential in providing internationally recognized training programmes in theology, skills, health, business and Tourism and Hospitality Management courses leading to international Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral recognition.
