Drake Unveils FOMO Film, New Music and Plans for 2027 World Tour

Drake FOMO turns a Toronto summer into a sprawling film featuring unreleased music and celebrity cameos, while the hometown superstar confirms he intends to return to the road for a 2027 world tour.

TORONTO — Drake has extended one of the busiest years of his career with Fear of Missing Out, a sprawling film project that doubles as a showcase for unreleased music and ends with confirmation that the Toronto rapper plans to tour the world in 2027.

Released September 15 after weeks of cryptic promotion, FOMO runs for just over an hour. Drake described the project before its premiere as a “not so short film” and “self-funded surrealism,” framing it as a story about making the most of one summer.

The finished film combines music, cinematic sequences, celebrity appearances and scenes built around Drake’s life in Toronto, with nine new tracks or previously unheard musical moments woven through the project.

Among the music previewed are collaborations with Don Toliver, Yeat and PARTYNEXTDOOR. “Cold Shoulder,” featuring Toliver, receives a substantial showcase after Drake made a surprise appearance at Toliver’s Toronto concert at Scotiabank Arena in late August. The film also incorporates Drake’s take on Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.”

Toronto Takes Centre Stage

Toronto functions as more than a backdrop. Drake moves through familiar locations and imagery from his career, including references to videos such as “God’s Plan,” “Hotline Bling,” “Started From the Bottom,” “Headlines” and “Toosie Slide.” One sequence takes him to the Canadian National Exhibition in an Iron Man suit.

The guest list reinforces the project’s mix of music, sports and pop culture. Sexyy Red, Kevin Durant, Winnie Harlow and Drake’s mother Sandra Graham are among those appearing in the film.

A 2027 World Tour Is Taking Shape

At the Toronto premiere, Drake confirmed that a 2027 world tour is planned. Dates and venues had not been announced as of this update. A North American run would mark his first tour on the continent since 2023.

FOMO Extends a Historic 2026 Run

FOMO arrives roughly four months after Drake released ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR simultaneously on May 15. The three-album release made Drake the first artist to occupy Nos. 1, 2 and 3 on the Billboard 200 at the same time since the chart began publishing on a regular weekly basis in 1956.

ICEMAN debuted at No. 1 with 463,000 equivalent album units in the United States, giving Drake his 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 and moving him ahead of Jay-Z for the most No. 1 albums among rappers. Its songs generated 462.2 million on-demand official streams in the opening week.

The film therefore arrives not as an isolated side project but as another piece of Drake’s unusually expansive 2026 campaign. It also shows his continuing interest in treating Toronto itself as part of the storytelling around his music.

The original YouTube upload was made private after the premiere. Attention now shifts to which FOMO songs receive formal releases and when Drake will reveal the cities and dates for the 2027 tour.
