Entertainment Perspective: Sizzla Sizzled at Grand Gala

“This government is the most beautiful …”

Thousand cheered as Internationally acclaimed recording artiste Sizzla who was registered at birth as Miguel Orlando Collins also known as Kalonji set the record straight when on receiving an award he had high praise for the government led by The Most Honourable Andrew Michael Holness.

It was capacity packed National Stadium with a crowd estimated at 40, 000 including, Jamaica’s Governor General Sir Patrick ken& Lady Allen, Their Excellencies the President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife Margaret, diplomats, other foreigners, watched appreciatively as the as Sizzla Kalonji was honoured through the Culture Ministry on behalf of the government and people of Jamaica. It was a National Award.

Responding to thunderous applause the artiste gave what has been regarded as a memorable if not controversial acceptance speech. “This government is the most beautiful (government) in the Western Hemisphere”. It was our Independence Day. Jamaica was born on the 6th August 1962.

Perspective

It was a bold statement to make. Did he set the record straight. There was much applause, but judging the divisiveness politically of our people it must have caused zone unease. Will elaborate in a further perspective.
