Equatorial Guinea Celebrates Tenth Anniversary as CPLP Member

Equatorial Guinea – In a significant milestone for Equatorial Guinea, the country has marked its tenth anniversary as a member of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). The occasion was highlighted by a recent statement from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to the CPLP’s core values and objectives.

In his statement, President Obiang expressed a strong dedication to the CPLP’s mission of fostering peace, democracy, and human rights across its member states. “I reiterate my firm commitment of the Government of Equatorial Guinea (GE) to the commitments and objectives of the CPLP,” said President Obiang. “We will continue to work tirelessly to promote peace, democracy, and human rights in our States. Long live the tenth anniversary of our country as a member of the CPLP!”

The CPLP, founded in 1996, is an international organization that aims to promote cultural and political cooperation among Portuguese-speaking countries. Equatorial Guinea joined the organization in 2014, enhancing its global diplomatic and cultural engagement.
