ERYKAH BADU HONOURED AT BLACK GIRLS ROCK!

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) _Erykah Badu, Fantasia, Sheila E., Sister Sledge and Estelle were among the acts who performed in celebration of black women over the weekend in Newark, New Jersey. They were the headliners for Black Girls Rock!, an event that honours black women’s achievement. Badu was one of the honorees, along with actresses Jada Pinkett Smith and Cicely Tyson, “Selma” director Ava DuVernay, educator Nadia Lopez and humanitarian Dr. Helene D. Gayle.
