First One Music Poised for Musical Success

December 1, 2020 | By Susan Smith |

First One Music is poised to become one of the most sought after labels in the music industry, if the calibre of productions is anything to go by. The label is spearheaded by Brooke Vernon, who has been in the music production business for the past three years. Vernon is not only creative musically; he is also a talented visual artist with a penchant for sculptures and also balances his production life with his current work as a chef.

Since the establishment of his label, First One Music, the producer has worked with various upcoming and established acts such as Singer D, Calico Flames, Dre Blacks, Chris Crown and Nkosi. The label is behind the highly successful single “Chant Dem” performed by Deva Bratt, which was released earlier this year, in February. The newest production coming from the label will be “No Beg Friend” by Calico Flames, which is set to be released at the end of the month.

“This is a Dancehall track about standing on your own and it also focuses on girls,” the producer highlighted. In addition, a new single featuring Dre Blacks and Nkosi, titled “Shadey”, is also expected to be out in short order.

Based in Brooklyn, New York, the producer is set on producing good wholesome music that everyone can listen to, incorporating Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop and R & B.

“What inspired me to start this label is, I loved the music so much and I saw where some of the youths were not getting enough attention. So I decided to start my label to help some of these artistes and push them in the right direction,” the producer explained.

Of course there are more work in the pipeline in the form of riddims that will be released early next year.
