Toronto Ontario – August 18, 2015 – Former child soldier and international hip hop artist and activist Emmanuel Jal has launched his first ever Kickstarter crowd funding campaign to support Jal Gua – a brand new African inspired super food that provides 140% iron, 45% Vitamin C and contains 7 essential nutrients.

“I believe peace is when my belly is full. Food can bring peace. Healthy bodies lead to healthy minds. I invented a product called Jal Gua, a mixture of sorghum and moringa to create an instant powder that I can put in anything to provide nutrients and energy. I’ve been holding back from crowd funding until now and look forward to making history with this product” – Emmanuel Jal.

Emmanuel has been a speaker and performing artist for over ten years, working to share his experiences for social emotional learning thorough local and international initiatives. Emmanuel believes that a healthy body promotes peace of mind and allows people to work hard, accomplish goals and create change.

Emmanuel Jal was born into the life of a child solider on an unknown date in the early 1980s in the war torn region of Southern Sudan. Through unbelievable struggles, Emmanuel managed to survive and go on to emerge as a recording artist, achieving worldwide acclaim for his unique style of hip hop with its message of peace and reconciliation born out of his personal experiences. This past year, Jal co-starred with Reese Witherspoon in the Warner Brothers motion picture, “THE GOOD LIE” which tells the story about the journey of four young Sudanese refugees (based on The Lost Boys of Sudan) who win a lottery for relocation to the United States. Emmanuel is in demand as a speaker and has addressed the UN, US Congress, the Carter Centre and the highest tiers of several governments. He is also the founder of Gua Africa, an educational charity in East Africa. Part of the proceeds from the sales of Jal Gua go towards supporting this charity.

Jal Gua contains a blend of two staple African ingredients: sorghum and moringa. It is high in iron and an excellent source of Vitamin C. Jal Gua contains 7 essential nutrients: iron, copper, phosphorus, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin C. It also contains fiber and calcium. Jal Gua is made of organic ingredients. It is a gluten free product.

Unlike many food products, Jal Gua contains no preservatives. It provides an abundance of nutrients using only two organic ingredients. Jal Gua can be added to virtually any food product. It can be put in smoothies, yogurt, cereal and soups. It can be used in baking, sprinkled in desserts or taken plain in water and served hot or cold.  Users need to consume 40 grams or 4 tablespoons to reap the benefits of this new product.

Jal Gua was created at a time when Emmanuel Jal was focusing on the root cause of his high blood pressure, early symptoms of diabetes and the intense fatigue he felt on tour. He developed Jal Gua to combat these ailments and the results were tremendous. His blood stabilized, he had energy to perform and felt revitalized and rejuvenated. In the past two years Emmanuel has not experienced blood pressure issues and has been in top health conditions.

Jal Gua is currently available through this Kickstarter campaign (please donate and share):
