Former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson among the First to receive Covid-19 Vaccine in Jamaica

Upon arrival of the COVID-19 Vaccine on March 9, 2021, the Government of Jamaica wasted no time continuing the fight against the Corona Virus with the distribution of the Astra Zeneca Covid-19 Vaccine.  The vaccines arrived courtesy of the Government of India.   The Prime Minister took to twitter to share the initial stages of the process of the Vaccination.

“Phase one of our vaccination programme began this morning starting with our healthcare workers as was announced last week. Marcia Thomas-Yettman, a Public Health nurse, becomes the first person in Jamaica to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.” said the Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness

Among these person that took the initiative to be vaccinated with a dose of the vaccine was former Jamaican Prime Minister Hon. P.J Patterson. While his actions speaks volume he was swiftly accompanied by former PM Bruce Golding and his wife Lorna Golding with high hopes that this could be the means to the end of the pandemic.
