Fund Me Fest awards Canadian indie musicians with $25,000

Submission deadline is April 17th

Fund Me Fest’s inaugural music competition provides some of Canada’s most talented independent musicians with the chance to win a total of $25,000 in grant monies. Fund Me Fest began as a way to address one of the biggest problems plaguing unsigned, independent, world class music talents based in Canada – a severe lack of access to funding.

All independent Canadian musicians and groups that perform popular music (e.g. hip hop, EDM, R&B, dancehall, soul, indie rock, etc) are being invited to apply to Fund Me Fest. The top 10 finalists chosen by a hand selected panel of music industry experts and tastemakers will be invited to the Fund Me Fest event taking place at Queen Elizabeth Theatre (190 Princes’ Boulevard) on May 5th 2017.

A total of six Music Development Grants will be awarded. One winning applicant will be awarded $20,000 to further their music career and an additional five runners-up will each receive $1,000 and an assortment of valuable music industry prizes. To be awarded the $20,000 grand prize, the winner has to successfully perform their song live and present their answer to the question “what would you do with $20,000?” to the super jury.

Artists must submit their online applications between now and the April 17th deadline.

All applicants must be available to perform at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on May 5th.
