Speaking in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica W.I. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at a constituency conference held by MP Peter Bunting who is hoping to replace Portia Simpson Miller as president of the People’s National Party (PNP). The former beauty queen uttered those words. The St. Ann MP was there to apparently support Bunting’s bid to replace Portia.

Motion Withdrawn

The no confidence motion moved against Paul Burke under the leadership of Chair of Region 1, Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna has or will be withdrawn at the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. This is the news coming from the PNP. Burke has long signalled his intention to step aside as General Secretary of the PNP. Deputy Gen. Secretary Julian Robinson is tipped to succeed Burke.

Tivoli Report

Bunting said the JLP must be blamed for the deaths in Tivoli. This problem goes back to 1960 and the politics practiced in Tivoli Gardens, as the “Mother of all Garrisons” Peter Bunting asserts.

Lydia Richards

It is not clear at this time if the planned challenge to Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna will proceed. The Comrades seem to be closing ranks. We will wait to see.

OCG Probe

We are awaiting the results of a probe by the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) into J$8 million allegedly allocated to Lisa “Jezebel” Hanna’s constituency. There has been deafening silence on the Prickley Pole School yard paving etc. This was the main bone of contention in this St Ann neck of the woods.
