Grammy Award nominated reggae superstar Chronixx performs free admission concert in Toronto on August 17 as part of Manifesto

(Toronto, ON): Born Jamar McNaughton, Chronixx, whose music has been branded as “reggae revival”, is Jamaica’s most-buzzed-about new artist right now. After topping the Billboard Charts and recording a slew of hits over the last few years including “They Don’t Know”, “Here Comes Trouble” and the anthemic Smile Jamaica  – which won the Best Song award at the International Reggae and World Music Awards – this phenom is really just getting started.

Both his 2014 Dread and Terrible and 2017 Chronology full length releases topped the Billboard Top Reggae Albums charts, and led to appearances on stages where few contemporary reggae artists get to play, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Musically nurtured from an early age by his father, dancehall artist Chronicle, Chronixx grew up surrounded by the likes of Gregory Isaacs, and his remarkable ascension in the music industry began in the background; harmonizing for artists such as Lutan Fyah, while providing production assistance for tracks sung by Popcaan, Konshens and others. With the release of his debut LP Chronology last year, this superstar from Spanish Town Jamaica has spearheaded a reggae revival that’s more than merely retro.
