Gucci Mane kidnapping case 2026 involves federal charges against Pooh Shiesty and multiple co-defendants, prosecutors say

Dallas, TX – Federal prosecutors in the United States allege that rapper Gucci Mane was kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint during a January 2026 incident at a Dallas recording studio, leading to charges against several individuals, including fellow artist Pooh Shiesty.

According to a federal complaint cited by authorities and first reported by the BBC, the incident took place on January 10, when Gucci Mane was allegedly lured to a studio under the pretense of a business meeting. Prosecutors allege that Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., along with multiple co-defendants, carried out an armed ambush inside the facility.

Authorities claim the suspects held Gucci Mane and others at gunpoint, forcing the artist to sign documents related to his record label. The complaint further alleges that personal belongings, including jewelry, cash, and watches, were taken during the incident.

Federal Charges and Arrests

Eight of the nine defendants named in the case were arrested across multiple cities, including Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville. Prosecutors say the group faces federal charges of kidnapping and armed robbery, offences that could carry life sentences if convictions are secured. One suspect remains outstanding as of the latest update.

The case is being led by federal authorities, with investigators citing surveillance footage, social media activity, and monitoring data as part of the evidence referenced in the complaint.

Details from FBI Complaint

A sworn statement from the FBI alleges that Williams Jr. brandished a firearm during the incident and demanded that Gucci Mane sign documents. Additional victims present at the studio were also allegedly threatened and robbed, with one individual reported to have sustained injuries during the confrontation.

Prosecutors further stated that victims believed their lives were in immediate danger before being released and instructed to leave the location.

Legal Status

As of now, the defendants have not entered pleas, and the allegations remain before the court. Representatives for both Gucci Mane and Pooh Shiesty did not immediately respond to media requests for comment, according to reports.

The case continues to develop as federal authorities pursue legal proceedings.
