GUYANA TO RECEIVE FLIGHTS FROM BRITISH AIRWAYS IN 2023

Guyana to accept Flights from British Airways

August 12, 2022 | By Colin O. jarrett |

The people of Guyana now have an easier option to travel to Europe.  British Airways, B-A will begin flying to the country starting in 2023.

Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill said the flights would take place twice weekly from London’s Gatwick International Airport to the Chaddi Jagan International Airport during the first quarter of 2023.

B-A will be using its 777-200ER, which has a capacity to transport 332 passengers to service the route.

Edghill said it was a proud and exciting day for Guyana since it is the first time that B-A will offer a direct service to Guyana.

He noted bringing B-A to Guyana serves an additional justification for the government pushing China Harbour Engineering Company to include infrastructure at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport infrastructure to accept larger planes in keeping with the initial contract.
