Hezron stands Resilient

July 24, 2020 | By Janice Young |

International Reggae brand Hezron stands tall with his recently released video for his single called ‘Resilience’. The Reggae Ambassador was motivated to pen the poignant lyrics in April through his own personal journey as a recording artiste and even as a man in the 21st century.

”I personally have had to conjure the strength and perseverance to tackle the everyday adversities of life. This song is very personal to me and I hope that in some small capacity I’m able to bring some encouragement and strength to anyone who needs It.,’ Hezron shared

The track Resilience is geared at giving hope to the oppressed, the discouraged and marginalized here in Jamaica and around the world. Hezron takes particular interest in the issue of gun violence where young people are losing their lives at an alarming rate; and the anguish and pain of their families left to pick up the pieces and try to survive.

With the recent Black Lives Matter movement, he also believes ‘Resilience’ is even more relevant in these times even though that was never the motivation when writing the lyrics. BLM however played a role in the visuals directed by Keith Watkis and shot in St Catherine, Kingston and St Andrew here in Jamaica.

“It shouldn’t take a movement like BLM to bring light to our story as black people; the story of George Floyd , Breyanor Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Alton Sterling, Ahmaud Aubrey and many others, but here we are!” Hezron added

‘Resilience’ is set to motivate anyone trying to navigate this new normal, with a global pandemic and racial and financial disparities. The song is simply a reminder to stay strong and faithful no matter the outcome.
