Honey Jam Launch

Honey Jam, Canada’s longest running female talent showcase launched their 2017 season on Tuesday, July 25th, hosted by TD.
The show now boasts two decades since its first inception and it keeps getting better.  Organizers are committed to providing life long learning experience and opportunities in building a bridge for female artists networking, education and mentoring, as well as an avenue for showcasing their talent, while at the same time learning the business side of the music industry.
An introduction of the 2017 artist line up, included local artists from Toronto, Brampton, Thunder Bay, and nation wide, as far as Montreal, Vancouver and Nova Scotia.
Each year a featured guest artists is invited to share her personal experience on the journey into her professional development experience as an artist.
This year, courtesy of Entertainment One, Honey Jam welcomed LeToya Luckett, Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter and actress, who sold over 25 million records with Destiny’s Child and won 2 Grammy Awards. Her platinum solo debut LeToya featured the hit single, “Torn,” and topped the Billboard 200 Chart.
In May of 2017, Luckett ended her eight year hiatus from music with the successful release of her third studio album, Back 2 Life, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Chart and is currently a top 10 record on the Urban AC charts. 
Her first acting job was the lead in the film Preacher’s Kid, followed by a role opposite Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher in the film Killers. LeToya was a cast member in the series Single Ladies and has held recurring roles in the acclaimed HBO series Treme and Ballers opposite The Rock; the FOX drama Rosewood alongside Morris Chestnut; and in OWN’s hit series Greenleaf alongside Oprah Winfrey, Lynn Whitfield and Keith David. At the Cannes Film Festival, it was announced that LeToya will play the legendary Dionne Warwick in a new biopic. LeToya was also cast to star with Luke James and Aisha Hinds for the pilot of USA’s anthology series Unsolved: The Murders of Biggie and Tupac.
